Purpose and Objectives

The focus of the Global Credit Management organization is the combined goals of stewardship in mitigating financial loss to SAP resulting from the credit risk of its customer base, and true business partnership in providing efficient and compliant processes for evaluating the creditworthiness of our customers as an early part of the Quote to Cash process.   

The Credit Analyst’s main function is the analysis of credit decision systems and data for the financial evaluation of SAP customers and prospects. He/She must ensure accurate and timely credit checks to improve collectability and profitability and engage as necessary with internal and external customers. The objective is to obtain a transparent view of the customer's financial situation, and to allocate appropriate credit limits in alignment with defined policies to reduce credit risks and implement an early warning on prospects not considered to be creditworthy. 

 

Expectations and Tasks:

Ensure a timely, fully compliant and high quality credit check, so that customers operate within their credit limits and deals are escalated in an appropriate manner
Monitor credit risk across SAP’s customer and prospect portfolio and reporting to related business areas
Collaborate closely with other CoE team members,  and align with key business partners in Sales, Cash Collections, Revenue Recognition, Financing and Senior Leadership in Finance to meet common business objectives
Understand and communicate SAP Credit Management Policy in day-to-day business matters to help SAP reduce the credit risks resulting from customer engagements
Willingly support the optimization of credit management internal processes and projects
Work in a methodical and systematic manner

 

Work Experience:

Minimum of 2-4 years work experience in business administration – of which at least 2 years within a Commercial/ F&A area 
Relevant work experience in one or more of credit control, leasing,  underwriting, collections, accounting or SOX-based compliance experience preferred
Relevant work experience with credit information providers such as D&B, Credit Risk Monitor, Moody’s, S&P or similar local resources preferred

 

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, business, economics or related area, or combination of related work experience
Experience in analyzing financial statements and assessing profitability of customers for suitability of credit limits
Experience with SAP ISP and CRM systems and transactions an advantage
Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills, fluency in business English required (Chinese/Mandarin fluency also an important consideration for this posting).
Strong and informed business decorum in interaction with local CFOs and Sales
Ability to work under pressure, adherence to schedules and quarter-end demands
Assertiveness and reliability, and high customer and quality orientation.
Ability to work in a team and the desire to successfully collaborate with other departments.
